48 MEGAWATT POWER STATION REPAIR
Client: Westmont Power Kenya Limited
This turbine generator had thrown a blade thereby destroying the old rotor and severely damaging the housing. We then removed the damaged turbine rotor, and repaired the housing by welding. All welding procedures supervised by General Electric Company, the turbine manufacturer. We then replaced the new turbine into the repaired housing after receiving this from Canada. After boxing up the remainder of the machine; the turbine was restored to full service.
