A major player in the fuel market in East Africa in investing in a 75,000cbm fuel depot built to the highest standards possible. Civicon Ltd has been contracted to build all the tanks pipe work and ancillary steel work The total tonnage of plate pipes and steel will be over 2400MT.

We built 2 tanks to increase the storage capacity of the Shell Depot in Kampala. 1 tank for Jet A1 of 1000 cbm and 1 tank for AGO of 1000 cbm were built including the inlet and outlet connection into the depot. The contract was completed on time and this is the first tanks that Shell has build in Uganda for 20 years.

The project consisted of supplying and building an 8000 cbm Fuel Depot in Geita Tanzania 1400 km from our base. A virgin site was handed over to Civicon Limited and we handed back a fully operational 8000 cbm fuel depot and 200 cbm bulk lube oil depot.

Civicon was responsible for: Civils Works, Sourcing and Supply of all Equipment, Supply Fabricating and Erection 2 X 4000 cbm AGO Tank, Supply Fabricating and Erection 1 X 600 cbm Fire Tank, Building of Offices Warehouses, Supply and Laying of All Pipework

This project was a complete turnkey tank farm consisting of 9 tanks of 1600 cbm each plus all associated pipe work; bridges; loading gantry; weigh bridge fire fighting facilities and ship to shore pipeline for direct loading involvement by us with the conceptual design which reduced the cost of the project.

The Rwanda Government has contracted Wartsila to Supply and install a more cost effective power generating plant than the currecnt AGO plants. The contract is to supply transport and erect 12" fuel oil and fire tanks built to API 650 11th Edition for the new Rwanda Power Station. Civicon has also been contracted to erect all the equipment supplied by the original manufacturer and to undertake all interconnecting pipe work.
