BRIDGE ABUTMENTS ON NIMULE – JUBA ROAD

USAID has funded the total upgrade of this vital road link into Sudan. The contract is phased into 4 sections, the first being the building of 7 new bridges on the rivers that drain into the Nile. Civicon has been given the contract to build the bridge abutments, the first of which is 1100m3 of reinforced concrete, the remainder of the 6 bridges have not yet been designed, but indications are that the concrete volume will be around 4000 – 5000m3 for all 7 bridges. This is the largest single concrete works in South Sudan in 20 years, and Civicon is pleased to be part of it.
ERECTION OF 50 METRE BRIDGE SECTIONS IN RWANDA

This project consisted of the erection of 3 double bridge beams, the most complex being the centre span which was 50 metres and each beam weighed 49 tons and was lifted using cranes on the valley floor.
MWANZA FUEL DEPOT
Client: Caltex Kenya Ltd
This project is a complete turnkey tank farm in Mwanza Tanzania, complete with road and rail loading and offloading facilities plus connection to Lake Victoria for distribution of fuel on the lake. The civil works were complex due to the difficulty of construction in an area of high groundwater. Our project also included all civil works including lorry loading and offloading, office block, warehouse, concrete paving etc.
